Perched at the western end of the seafront in Fuengirola, Sohail Castle is one of the most recognisable landmarks on the Costa del Sol. This historic fortress overlooks the beach and the river mouth and is a popular place for walks, photos, and seasonal events. From here you can enjoy views along the Fuengirola promenade and towards the beaches stretching back toward the town centre.

Castillo Sohail is a historic hilltop castle located at the western end of Fuengirola, overlooking the sea and the river mouth. It is one of the town’s most recognisable landmarks, offering open walking areas, panoramic coastal views, and a mix of history and cultural events throughout the year.
The castle is located at the end of the Fuengirola seafront near the river.

It connects easily with the promenade and riverside walking routes.
Open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 14:00, with extended hours until 18:00 or 22:00 on weekends depending on events. The castle is free to enter.
Wheelchair access is limited, mainly due to the steep road leading up to the castle. Once inside, access is generally restricted to the ground level only, with uneven stone surfaces in some areas.
