The Paseo Marítimo Fuengirola is one of the longest and most popular seafront promenades on the Costa del Sol, stretching for around seven kilometres along the coastline from Carvajal to Castillo Sohail. Lined with beaches, restaurants, cafés, and beach bars, it forms the heart of Fuengirola’s holiday atmosphere and is one of the town’s biggest attractions.
The promenade runs almost the full length of Fuengirola’s coastline, linking:
It connects directly with the beaches, marina, restaurants, and many of the town’s main attractions.
The promenade is open access all year round and is one of the easiest places to walk on the Costa del Sol thanks to its wide, mostly flat layout.
Wheelchair and mobility scooter access is generally very good along most sections, with ramps leading down to many beach areas and regular resting spots along the route.
The promenade is busiest during summer evenings and weekends, while mornings are popular for walking, jogging, and cycling.
Parking varies depending on which section of the promenade you visit:
If visiting during summer, arriving earlier in the day is recommended as the seafront becomes very busy.
Visitors can expect:
One of the most traditional sights is sardines cooking over open boat-shaped BBQs outside the chiringuitos along the beachfront.
Across the road from many beach sections, there is also a huge variety of international restaurants including Spanish, Indian, Italian, Asian, Irish, British, and Brazilian cuisine.
Paseo Marítimo Fuengirola is one of the defining attractions of Fuengirola, combining beaches, restaurants, walking routes, and seafront atmosphere into one continuous coastal experience. Whether visiting during the day or evening, it remains one of the best ways to experience the town and its coastline.
