 Easter also known as Semana Santa, is a significant holiday in Spain and the § Q Costa del Sol region celebrates it with traditional events and festivities. Some of the common Easter festivals on the Costa del Sol include:

1. Processions: Religious processions with elaborate floats, marching bands, and hooded penitents are a common sight during the Holy Week leading up to Easter.

2. Flower offerings: In Málaga, people offer flowers to the statue of the Virgin Mary in the Cathedral, creating a carpet of petals.

3. Firework displays: Fireworks displays are a common sight in many towns and cities along the Costa del Sol, particularly on Holy Saturday.

4. Traditional music: Choirs and bands playing traditional Easter music are a common feature of the celebrations.

Overall, Easter is an important time of year on the Costa del Sol, with various traditions and customs observed to mark the occasion. Easter Sunday Date for 2023 is 9th April 2023

Feria del Marisco Benalmadena. This is a must for seafood lovers or if you want to give seafood a go. The event takes place at the port at 12:00 noon and offers a wide range of seafood over the five day event. 2023 Dates 28th April 2023 to the 1st of May 2023

The International fair in Fuengirola is one of the highlights of the year.

Normally starts on the last Thursday \ Friday in April and lasts for 4 to 5 days.

The fair displays good's, culture, music and food from over 30 countries around the world. The fair starts at 12:00 noon and finishes at 4:00am in the morning at the fair ground. On the Saturday there is a procession starting at noon at the town hall and finishes at the fair ground. This is where the different countries show off there culture and costumes. This event draws large crowds and is worth spending an afternoon and an evening here. 2023 Dates 27th April 2023 to 01st May 2023




Bajada en Banador in Seirra Navada. The literal translation is "decent in bathing suit" and thats exactly what it is. Towards the end of the ski season in April skier's are invited to ski in bathing suits or costumes on the slopes for a fun day. 2023 dates to be comfirmed


Koningsdag in Torremolinos. This festival is right out of Holland. It's a national holiday in The Netherlands to celebrate the Kings day, so the Dutch community party in Torremolinos. The festival starts at 3:00pm until 8:00pm The festival includes street markets selling Dutch food and products. The festival attacted over 200,000 tourists and locals in 2017. The traditional colour for the event is Orange. The event is held at La Carihuela 2023 date 27-04-2023.


 de la Tapas Torremolinos is a competition involving over 60 restaurants and bars. The rules are simple you pick up a passport at the tourist information centre that will have a list of all the participating establishments.

Each restaurant will offer you a tapa and a drink for €2.50 and stamp your passport. You choose the best tapa from the best restaurant or bar and hand the passport back to the tourist centre. The winning restaurant gets a plaque plus a prize and winning participent will be chosen. You get to have a fun time trying out different foods and judging them. 2023 dates to be confirmed.
