Information on the Plaza

The Plaza Virgen de la Peña is a lively and spacious square located in the lower part of Mijas Pueblo. It serves as a bustling hub of activity, surrounded by vibrant bars and restaurants, where visitors can relax and soak in the atmosphere.

Throughout the year, the plaza plays host to many of Mijas' fairs and festivals, making it a focal point for local celebrations. During the summer months, the square comes alive with market stalls selling handcrafted local goods, while the sounds of live flamenco music add to the authentic Andalusian charm.

At the front of the plaza, you'll find the starting point for the famous donkey and Tuk Tuk rides, which take you on a scenic journey through the charming whitewashed streets of the village. With its lively atmosphere and traditional Spanish character, Plaza Virgen de la Peña is the perfect starting point for exploring all that Mijas Pueblo has to offer.
